FCI (www.fci.com) has introduced an SD memory connector suitable for connecting removable storage devices into automotive multimedia systems.

FCI has introduced an SD memory connector suitable for connecting removable storage devices into automotive multimedia systems. The connector meets typical automotive temperature (-40 ºC to +105 ºC) and mating cycle requirements (12,000).

"More and more often consumers are utilizing MP3 music players or handheld GPS systems, and carmakers are facilitating this trend by designing vehicles that will connect with these devices," said FCI product manager Sally Luo.

The SD-card connector is priced from $0.85 in quantities from 1 to 5,000 pieces. Availability is four to six weeks.
