VR Sensors Check Automotive Speeds

Housed in a dimensionally-stable, chemically-resistant, high-temperature polymer, this new series of variable reluctance (VR) sensors is being earmarked for use in vehicle and engine speed sensing, ignition timing control, electronic braking, and other systems that must withstand hostile automotive environs.Comprised of a plastic bobbin assembly that houses their magnetic elements and wire, VR Series sensors come in single and dual output models and can be fabricated with threaded or smooth barrels in a range of lengths and diameters. The new VR sensors also are said to provide greater overall durability and the ability to maximize output in support of low-speed applications.
