THE POWER SIP non-isolated dc-dc converter modules from Bel Power, a division of Bel Fuse Inc., now come in 20-, 40-, 50-, 60-, and 80-A versions. Efficiency is up to 94% over an input range of 4.5 to 13.8 V and an output-voltage trim range of 0.59 to 5.1 Vdc.

The devices are offered with active-high and true active-high enable logic, and feature an integrated heat sink to maximize usable power density. The RoHS-compliant converters are most commonly specified for space-restricted PCB-mounted applications, and suit both 12-V- or 5-V-input distributed-power architectures in data and enterprise networks.

The dc-dc converters switch at fixed frequencies — from 250 to 500 KHz — depending on the module, offer a low-input ripple current, remote on/off pin, and differential remote sense. Additional control and protection features include input undervoltage lockout and output overcurrent/short-circuit protection. The 60- and 80-A modules have a current-share pin that allows paralleled units to share current, while the 40- and 50-A parts come in both vertical and horizontal configurations.

Pricing, in quantities of 10,000, is $9.85, $17.85, $18.75, $24.95, and $25.95 for the 20-, 40-, 50-, 60-, and 80-A models, respectively. Samples and production quantities are available from stock with lead times of up to 12 weeks.
