THE RPC Series of surface mount chips from Stackpole offers superior pulse withstanding in a 5% tolerance part. The 5% tolerance RPC is completely untrimmed, which allows the entire width of the resistance element to dissipate the pulse power without any current crowding. This superior design outperforms other comparable thick film surge chips and offers superior pulse handling compared to metal film, carbon film and thick film pulse withstanding MELF (metal electrode leadless face) solutions. The RPC Series surge withstanding thick film chip resistors are ideal for applications requiring low cost high pulse handling capability including many types of low to medium power supplies, broadband and wireless electronics, power control and motion control systems, medical applications and imaging systems, GPS systems, AC and DC power modules and backplanes, thermostats, HVAC control systems, and industrial motor controls. The RPC Series is available in tape and reel packaging in quantities that vary depending on size. Pricing for full reel quantities for the 5% RPC depends on size and resistance value and ranges from $0.036 to $0.175.
