DC-DCs Pack 25 W Into 1- By 1-In. Package

Feb. 11, 2014
Minmax raised the power-density bar with its MJW25 series of dc-dc converters that deliver 25 W in a 1- by 1-in. shielded metal package.

Minmax raised the power-density bar with its MJW25 series of dc-dc converters that deliver 25 W in a 1- by 1-in. shielded metal package. All models offer 2:1 input voltage ranges of 9 to 18, 18 to 36, or 36 to 75 V dc, which convert to isolated, tightly regulated single or dual outputs of 3.3, 5, 12, or 15 V dc. Dual outputs can be stacked to create 24- and 30-V dc outputs. No minimum load is required. The 90%-efficiency devices are specified to operate from ‒40 to +80°C; optional heatsinks will help optimize high temperature performance. Input-to-output isolation is 1500 V dc. Other features include remote on/off; output-voltage trim; and overload, overvoltage, and short-circuit protection. Pin layout matches that of larger 2- by 1-in. devices. The converters fit into a variety of applications, such as battery-operated equipment, instrumentation, data communications, and industrial.
