Disk Drive Analyzer Touts Fast Sampling Rate, Long Memory, And More

Incorporating patent-pending 'digitizer-on-a-chip' technology, the DDA 260 disk drive analyzer boasts of a 500-MHz increase in bandwidth, twice the sampling rate, four times the memory length, a more powerful processing system for faster answers and several new measurement techniques compared to previous versions of the analyzer. The DDA 260 samples at a 4-GS/s rate on each channel and can combine ADCs for up to a 16-GS/s when acquiring one signal. It features a standard memory of 16 Mpts/channel. When the analyzer is in single shot mode it can capture signals up to 4 ms in length at the full 16-GS/s sampling rate. Other DDA 260 features include noise measurement tools, analysis tools for PRML, servo wedge analysis tools, customized triggers for capturing disk drive signals and a set of drive-specific signal measurement parameters and drive analysis tools. The DDA 260 also offers advanced waveform math, spectrum analysis and waveform parameter analysis capabilities. And a SmartTrigger feature allows users to trigger on glitches, runts and slew rates as short as 600 picoseconds.
