Built using an advanced double hetero technology, the TSFF5200 and TSFF5400 high-speed, high-power infrared emitters combine fast switching times with low power consumption. The devices are aimed at IrDA-compliant infrared data communication applications in cell phones, palmtops, computers, multimedia equipment, and alarm and safety systems, where their high-efficiency operation prolongs battery life while enabling a high rate of data transmission. The devices offer a choice of two angles of high intensity: ±10° for the TSFF5200 and ±22° for the TSFF5400. Radiant power for the emitters is said to be 60% higher than previous generation devices built on similar technologies, with typical ratings of 40 mW for both devices. Pricing is $50 each/1000.
