Miniature IR Transceivers Consume Little Power

Dec. 1, 1998
Targeted for use in notebook and desktop computers, PDAs, digital cameras, and more, these IrDA-compliant infrared transceivers are very small in size (height is only 4 mm) and can operate from a 2.7V to 5.25V supply. HSDL-3600 and HSDL-3610

Targeted for use in notebook and desktop computers, PDAs, digital cameras, and more, these IrDA-compliant infrared transceivers are very small in size (height is only 4 mm) and can operate from a 2.7V to 5.25V supply. HSDL-3600 and HSDL-3610 transceivers can transmit at rates of up 115.2 Kb/s (Serial Infrared) and 4 Mb/s (Fast Infrared), respectively, and are classified as eye-safe under IEC825-Class 1 specs. Typical link distance is >1.5m, with the modules using only 200 mA (for SIR) and 400 mA (for FIR) peak drive current at the one-meter range.
