According to its makers, the PSX-ZDS-A is a near-zero power, three-digit numeric LCD module. With a typical quiescent current draw (static display) of less than 1 na, the component draws 5.0 na typical in continuous update mode. It is as easy to implement in a design as standard LED status lights while providing more system feedback options. Each individual digit is controlled by a dedicated digital line and a voltage pulse to the digital line increments the digit. Duty cycling of input power to produce a flashing numeric display further reduces power consumption. Shipping in a standard 46 mm x 25 mm, panel-mount ready package, the PSX-ZDS-A is available with a six-pin Samtec 0.1” pitch female connector or with through-holes. Pricing starts at $9.55 each/1,000. ParasitX, llc, Norfolk, VA. (888) 511-5904.
