Sensor System Performs Accurate 2D Measurements In A Single Procedure

The Z500 laser-measurement sensor is unusual in that it combines a wide-beam laser (4 to 45 mm in width, depending on the model) with a 2D charge-coupled capacitor to conduct highly accurate 2D measurements in a single procedure. It uses a Class II or IIIb visible red laser and measures distances from 5.2 to 100 mm with resolution from 2.5 to 1.0 ┬Ám. Users can measure level difference and width or edge position. The Z500 includes a sensor (up to two can be connected), a controller, a programming console, and an LCD monitor that displays data in four different formats. The Z500 sensor system is available from stock and costs $20,000.
