Intended for high-performance communications applications, this new line of small form factor (SFF) four-channel optical links meet the growing demand for higher density optical solutions in complex networking and telecomm equipment applications. The devices place four transmitters, four receivers, or any combination of transmitters and receivers that totals to four, in a package double the width of a standard SFF LC transceiver.
Applications include providing high-performance VSR (very short reach) optical communications in rack-to-rack or backbone environments in private networks, or in routers and switches handling a mix of SONET and IP traffic over distances of 300 meters or less. In a parallel configuration, with all four transmitters or receivers running at 2.5 Gbps, each link provides data communication at 10 Gbps.
