Primed for use in mobile phones, hard disk drives, laptop computers, and compact disc players, the NB23 series negative temperature coefficient thermistors can be used as a temperature sensor for the battery pack’s charge control circuitry. They are also suitable for temperature measurement on LCD displays, particularly those found in high-resolution color displays. Resistance values range from 10 to 100 kΩ with standard tolerances of 5%, 10%, and 20%. Maximum power dissipation is 150 mW, with a thermal dissipation factor of 0.8 mW/°C and a thermal time constant of 3s. Operating temperature range is from -55°C to +150°C. Typical pricing starts at $0.11 each/10,000. AVX CORP., Myrtle Beach, SC. (843) 448-9411.
