Said to be the industry's smallest optical amplifier module for high-speed optical transmission systems, S1730 is an erbium-doped fiber amplifier with dimensions of 79 x 20 x 107 mm. The S1730 includes pump lasers, erbium-doped fiber, input and output power monitors and a mP controller. This device can be used in pre-amplification applications that require low noise and booster applications that require high power. These devices allow optical signals to be transmitted over very long distances without the need for signal regeneration, especially in dense wavelength-division multiplexing.
