Groomed for tough automotive designs, the AS5243 10-bit, redundant magnetic rotary encoder chip integrates Hall elements, an analog front end, and digital signal processing into a thin QFN package. The device is a complete system-on-chip contact-less magnetic angle position sensor for accurate measurement up to 360° and includes two AS5143 devices in a punched stacked lead frame. It provides two separate programmable analog outputs, including a programmable angular range, adjustable output voltage range, and a voltage or current output. Additional features include CHIP-ID for traceability, programmable zero position, and diagnostic modes, an internal voltage regulator, the ability to detect 1,024 absolute positions over a full turn, and a minimum resolution of 0.087°.
