ADC Takes Aim At Data Acquisition Apps

General-purpose data acquisition applications, including industrial power metering, instrumentation and motor control, are the targets of the AD73360 AFE analog-to-digital converter. The six-input channel, programmable analog front end device features an on-chip programmable input gain amplifier that allows low-level transducer amplitude signals to be connected to analog inputs. It features six, 16-bit A/D channels and a serial port, which allows direct, easy interface to DSPs or microcontrollers. Operating at 2.7V to 5.5V, the chip’s six ADC channels provide 77 dB signal-to-noise ratio over a voiceband signal bandwidth. Internally, the channels are separate, with channel-to-channel crosstalk of only -83 dB, allowing for simultaneous sampling. The chips are housed in 28-pin SOICs and 44-lead TQFPs.
