The MCP1650/51/52/53 series 750-kHz, gated-oscillator dc/dc boost controllers can deliver up to 5W to the load, while consuming just 120 µA of quiescent current under no load conditions. Designed to generate supply voltages for microcontrollers

The MCP1650/51/52/53 series 750-kHz, gated-oscillator dc/dc boost controllers can deliver up to 5W to the load, while consuming just 120 µA of quiescent current under no load conditions. Designed to generate supply voltages for microcontrollers and other loads from a battery or bus voltages, the devices feature low-battery detection and a low-power shutdown mode at typically less than 0.1 µA. A power-good indicator monitors output voltages and can migrate the output from a high-impedance state to a low state capable of sinking up to 10 mA if it drops below the regulated set point. Other common functions include adjustable output voltages from 2.5V to over 100V and two under-voltage lockout settings of 2V or 2.55V. Available in MSOP 8- and 10-pin packages, prices range from $1.15 to $1.28 each/1,000 depending upon options. MICROCHIP TECHNOLOGY INC., Chandler, AZ. (888) 628-6247.
