A sampling head and pulse generator architecture IP core has been developed that is capable of generating a string of picosecond-range electrical sampling apertures and pulses that require only a single transition of a control input signal. Based on the Libove gate architecture, this new circuit topology is said to allow an array of matched, sub-20 ps sampling heads or pulse generators to be integrated on a monolithic IC. Applications include use as a sub-component in ICs for instruments that require either an array of precisely matched ultra-fast samplers or pulse generators. The instruments include single-shot sampling oscilloscopes and time domain reflectometers (TDRs).
