Expanding the company's portfolio of PCI Express Gen2 timing ICs are four- and eight-output timing devices. Users can drive the 9FG104D generator with either a 14.318 MHz or a 25 MHz crystal to provide four PCIe Gen2 reference clocks. Otherwise similar, the eight-output 9FG108D targets larger applications such as servers. In addition to Gen2 compliance, the devices are backward compatible with the PCIe Gen1 spec. Offering flexibility, the devices are completely configurable through hardware pins or through an SMBus interface and offer both spread-spectrum and non spread-spectrum options. Prices for the IDT 9FG104D (28-pin SSOP or TSSOP) and 9FG108D (48-pin SSOP or TSSOP) are $1.84 and $2 each/10,000, respectively. INTEGRATED DEVICE TECHNOLOGY INC., Santa Clara, CA. (800) 345-7015.
