Designed for applications in which the security of encryption keys is critical, the DS3605 I2C-compatible, secure, non-volatile SRAM controller allows users to specify their own external SRAM. When a tamper event occurs, the DS3605 quickly erases the encryption keys on the external SRAM. To further enhance security, the device integrates a real-time clock, battery-backup controller, system power monitor, CPU supervisor, temperature sensor, and four uncommitted tamper-detection comparator inputs. The tamper-detection comparator inputs interface with a variety of tamper-detection mechanisms, such as anti-tamper meshes, external case switches, and digital interlocks. If a tamper event is registered, it is time-stamped and stored for analysis. Packaged in a lead-free, 5 mm x 5 mm, 25-ball CSBGA for added security, the DS3605 is specified over –40°C to 85°C. For tracing purposes, each device is inscribed with a unique, 4-bit serial number. Contact the company for the data sheet, samples, and pricing. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA.
