Enlarging the company's Smart Power Module portfolio, the lead-free FSB50325S (250V), FSB50250S (500V), and FSB50450S (500V) Motion-SPM devices debut in 29 mm x 12 mm surface-mount packages. The devices achieve the high efficiency and low EMI levels required by small, 50W to 125W inverter-motor-drive applications such as water pumps, dishwashers, and fans. Each integrates six fast-recovery MOSFETs and three half-bridge, high-voltage ICs. Employing a MOSFET as the devices' power switch reportedly provides better system ruggedness and a larger safe operating area than either IGBT-based power modules or one-chip topologies. Available now, prices for the FSB50325S, FSB50250S, and FSB50450S are $6.60, $7.20, and $7.80 each, respectively.
