Enlarging the San Ace 172 family of dc fan motors, the GV-type series provides 66% more airflow than previous types and is available in 24V and 48V models. The 172GV is a side-cut-style fan motor measuring 172 mm x 150 mm x 51 mm, suitable for use in servers, data storage systems, and communications equipment. It consumes 96W of power, and a unique impeller and frame design allows the motor to operate at levels 5-dB quieter than comparable components. Other features include a life expectancy of 40,000 hours at 60ºC and RoHS compliance. Optional features include a tachometer sensor, lock rotor sensor outputs, and PWM control. Price is around $63 each/100 with a delivery time of six to eight weeks. SANYO DENKI AMERICA, Torrance, CA. (310) 783-5400.
