Providing a phase shift for a permanent split phase motor, Type LACI metallized film capacitors also provide the physical protection of standard capacitor housings (motor start capacitor case). The housing eliminates the safety hazards associated with replacing traditional oil-filled capacitors. Applications are air conditioning, business/office machines, gear motors, lighting systems, appliances, and wherever dry, unprotected metallized film construction is desired. The caps are available for 240, 250, 330, 370 vac at 60 Hz systems. Under rated voltage, frequency and temperature conditions, the capacitance will not be less than 99.5% after 5000 hours and 94% after 60,000 hours of operation.
