Claimed as 30 to 35 percent smaller by volume than the firm's previous generation device, the FTR-P3/P4 ultra-miniature, high-contact capacity automotive relay series is offered in single relay (FTR-P3) and twin relay (FTR-P4) packaging. Despite its reduced size, each 1 Form C relay has a contact rating of 25A at 14 vdc locked motor load and a maximum switching current of 25A at 16 vdc. This capability makes the relay especially effective for heavy-load, motor reversal applications such as power windows, door locks, sunroofs and seats. It is also suitable for switching lighter load motors in intermittent windshield wipers, tilt steering wheels and retractable antennas. The series is available with 9, 10 and 12 vdc coils and features 600 mW nominal power with an electrical life of 100,000 operations. In lots of 10,000, the FTR-P3 single relay is priced at $0.71 each and the FTR-P4 twin relay costs $1.29 each.
