Transducer Converts Motor Signals To DC

Sept. 1, 1999

The MCR-SLP-1/5-UI-0(-SW) is a DIN-rail-mounted, compact ac current transducer that accepts 1A or 5A ac current signals from sources such as ac motors and drives and converts them into linearized dc signals that can be easily monitored by a programmable logic controller. This approach eliminates the need for current transformers, which have non-linearized millivolt outputs that must be converted into a standard linearized signal. The transducer features two simultaneous outputs- zero to 10V, zero to 20 mA or both in parallel- and optional relay contacts. The module with relay option features a normally-open and normally-closed relay output and time delay, which can be used as a limit alarm indicator. The unit comes in a 22.5-mm housing.
