Toshiba Unveils TransferJet-Compliant Devices

Nov. 8, 2012
Düsseldorf, Germany: To help simplify implementation of TransferJet, Toshiba developed an SDIO module, microSDIO card, and USB adaptor module that all comply with the standard. TransferJet is the standard for high-speed wireless transfer of large multimedia files between consumer electronics products, with transfers initiated by touching the two devices together.

The TransferJet IC module, which measures 4.8mm by 4.8mm by 1.0mm, integrates Toshiba’s TransferJet transceiver IC, RF components, and a crystal oscillator. Its small size will suit most consumer electronics products.

The TransferJet-enabled microSDIO card can be inserted into a variety of compact, portable products, such as smartphones and tablets. It integrates a TransferJet transceiver IC, a TransferJet coupler, RF components, and a crystal oscillator in one unit, thus simplifying implementation.

The TransferJet USB adaptor easily and quickly adds TransferJet communications to larger products, including notebooks, PCs and televisions. The adaptor also integrates a TransferJet transceiver IC, a TransferJet coupler, RF components, and a crystal oscillator.

Software development kits are available, too.
