For deployment in various wireless communication applications including WiMAX and cellular infrastructure the SKY73012 debuts as one of the first of several forthcoming direct demodulators. Suitable for quadrature demodulation of waveforms from 400 MHz to 3.9 GHz, the device allows users to integrate a single solution across an entire spectrum of radios rather than requiring multiple demodulators for various frequency ranges. It is described as an integrated, broadband high dynamic range quadrature demodulator with differential outputs that can be directly connected to most a/d converters. The device is also suitable for CDMA, UMTS, GSM/GPRS receivers, WiMAX (IEEE 802.16) radios, RFID readers, power-amplifier feedback/linearization, WLLs, and WLANs. Other features include a LO balun and amplifier, differential IF output, a quadrature phase splitter, and operation from a 3V supply. SKYWORKS SOLUTIONS INC., Woburn, MA. (781) 376-3000.
