Embedded: Flash Drive Addresses Space-Constrained Applications

The FDD 2.5-in. SATA and Ultra Wide SCSI flash disk drives are available in sizes from 1 Gbyte to 128 Gbytes of flash memory. They deliver throughput in excess of 1.5 Gbits/s. The drives are compatible with SMART (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology). Their operating temperature ranges from ­40°C to 85°C. Pricing starts at $1100 for a 4-Gbyte SATA drive.
