SolidWorks 2007 introduces a host of new features that help typical users employ sophisticated 3D CAD features through the use of SolidWorks Intelligent Feature Technology (SWIFT). SWIFT FeatureXpert handles the proper ordering of production steps such as applying drafts and fillets. SWIFT SketchXpert resolves dimensional and relational conflicts. SWIFT MateXpert removes conflicts that arise between mated parts. Stylish surfaces can be created with the Freeform surfacing tool, which lets designers push and pull control points with curvature continuity control. The latest version of SolidWorks also handles 3D gear mates and simplifies belt interaction. SolidWork's ScanTo3D capability enables users to extract design data from real-world artifacts using third-party scanners.
