The 45 mm-wide RAD-WHG/WLAN-XD WirelessHART gateway integrates an 802.11b/g WLAN transceiver to increase the reliability and flexibility of existing HART networks. It connects up to 250 WirelessHART field devices. The added WLAN can serve as the backhaul connection, allowing field installation of the gateway and allowing the creation of a clustered network topology. Additionally, the gateway uses the 802.11i (WPA2) standard with 128-bit AES encryption. PHOENIX CONTACT INC., Middletown, PA. (800) 888-7388.
