The new K-Series of intelligent, distributed I/O modules boast accurate and/or fast measurement of process conditions for industrial data acquisition and control applications. The 1,000 Hz, 19-bit analog measurement devices can be configured as Modbus or ASCII protocol slaves. There are three different model types in the series: the KA1 group are available in either a 1-, 4- or 8-channel configuration; the KA4 group consists of either a 4- or 16-channel unit with thermocouple or voltage inputs; and the KD1 group consists of either an 8- or 32-channel, multipurpose digital input unit for status, counter or frequency measurement applications. All of the models operate on 10 to 30 Vdc and transmit their information over an RS-485 interface. In conjunction with the optional EGATE-01 data concentrator, the modules support an Ethernet interface and can reach throughputs of 100,000 samples per second on a 12 Mbps Profibus network. Pricing for the I/O Pak K-Series starts at $27.50/channel for digital units and $78/channel for analog units. ACTION INSTRUMENTS, San Diego, CA. (800) 767-5726.
