AS-i Master Integrates Backlit LCD

Capable of operating as a PLC or a transparent gateway to high-level networks, the Controller-E AS-i master also provides diagnostics via its integrated backlit LCD. The unit includes a total memory of 1 MB and 128 Kwords of program memory. Operating as a gateway, the controller can connect two AS-i systems (representing up to 868 I/O points) as one node on the higher level bus system without the need for additional software. Gateways come standard with a Profibus interface, with additional interfaces, such as DeviceNet, Ethernet and TCP/IP, also available. Used as a PLC, the controller allows more than 300 counters and timers to be stored in program memory. Software is compliant with IEC61131-3 and supports five programming languages: Ladder, Function Block Diagram, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text, and Instruction List. Floating-point math, real-time clocks, and on-line changing are also supported. In addition, the Controller-E supports all AS-i 2.1 extensions, including the extended addressing mode that allows up to 62 nodes to be connected to each master.
