The service-oriented improvements in IBM's WebSphere Micro Environment 5.6 are designed to enhance collaborative applications. Websphere now includes MIDP 2.0 and Personal Profiles. Platform-management services are based on the Open Systems Gateway Initiative (OSGi). Device-management services are provided via the Tivoli Device Management Agent. System synchronization services have been enhanced. The "Preview" Mobile Media Services can deliver video streams at 28 frames/s. There is even a SOAP client. The WebSphere Development Environment is based on the latest version of Eclipse with IBM's enhancements.
