Measuring 1.65" x 3.55", approximately 44% the size of a standard PC/104 expansion module, the XBLOK modules predict cost-effective expansion for PC/104 platforms. Up to two functional additions, such as Ethernet and digital I/O, can be added to a system while increasing the stack height by just 0.6". The modules are designed such that there is a 0.75" gap between opposing modules. This gap allows conduction cooling and the elimination of hot spots, a factor that can be critical when a/d converter cards are stacked above the CPU. Available modules include 10/100 Ethernet, quad USB 2.0, four to 48 lines of digital I/O, dual serial port, and a fail-safe, battery-backed static RAM disk. Prices range from $60 to $104 each.
