PC/104-Sized SBC Exploits Second-Gen Core 2 Duo Processor

Feb. 25, 2010
Wildcat single-board computer (SBC) enlists a second-generation Core 2 Duo processor for applications requiring extreme CPU and video processing

On a PC/104-sized card measuring 107 mm x 96 mm, the Wildcat single-board computer (SBC) enlists a second-generation Core 2 Duo processor for applications requiring extreme CPU and video processing. The SP9300 Core 2 Duo CPU pairs with a GS45 graphics memory controller hub and ICH9M I/O controller hub and the SBC is qualified to MIL-STD-202G for shock and vibration. Available in both a standard (0º to +60ºC) and an extended temperature version (-40º to +85ºC), the Wildcat runs at speeds up to 2.27 GHz with a typical power consumption of 19.5W. Other features include up to 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, a Gigabit Ethernet port, four USB 2.0 ports, dual SATA interface, serial port, digital HD audio support, and a latching MiniBlade socket for flash memory. The board supports analog VGA and LVDS flat panel video interfaces for Extended Desktop, Clone, and Twin display modes, as well as advanced graphics capabilities with 3D video acceleration. Pricing for the Wildcat is about $1,600 each in OEM quantities. VERSALOGIC CORP., Eugene, OR. (800) 824-3163.
