Designed to accelerate COM-port expansion in PCs, thin clients, and servers, the company’s latest PCI Express serial cards provide a scalable, high-speed serial I/O bus that maintains backwards compatibility with PCI applications and drivers. Their architecture enables data speeds from 250 Mb/s to 4 Gb/s. The cards are plug-and-play compatible and have no IRQ and I/O address conflict problems. They also feature serial power over pin-9, allowing the use of peripherals like scanners and card readers without an external power supply. Features include PCI Express advanced error reporting including ECRC support, baud rates up to 921.6 Kb/s, a 128-byte deep FIFO per transmitter and receiver, detection of bad data in the receiver FIFO, 9-bit data framing as well as 5-, 6-, 7-, and 8-bits, and software support for Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003, Vista, and Linux. The offering includes four models: the two-port MSC-202A and MSC-202AL, four-port MSC-204A, and the eight-port MSC-208A. For more information, call AAXEON TECHNOLOGIES INC., Brea, CA.
