An evaluation kit developed by eSOL for Xilinx’s Zynq-7000 All-Programmable SoC integrates the company’s eT-Kernel Multi-Core Edition real-time operating system (RTOS), dedicated eBinder integrated development environment (IDE), middleware components, and device drivers. Available a 30-day complimentary basis, the kit facilitates evaluation of Zynq-700 and eT-Kernel performance and quality. Xilinx’s system-on-a-chip (SoC) combines the dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 MPCore processor with the company’s 28-nm programmable-logic fabric. The eT-Kernel inherited the functions and architecture of uITRON, regarded as the most popular RTOS in Japan and Asian countries. As a result, developers can reuse uITRON-based software assets without further work. Runtime software includes the aforementioned eT-Kernel Multi-Core Edition, eSOL’s PrFILE2 FAT file system, SD memory card driver, and HDMI display driver—all are integrated and immediately run on the Zynq-7000 evaluation board. In addition to ARM’s genuine compiler, the eBinder IDE features various development tools and functions to support multi-programming, debugging, and analysis for complex multi-core software development.
