With the V-CPU Pro hardware/software co-development environment for processor-based designs, co-verification is extended to allow application software development by providing simulation performance increases and RTOS support. The environment allows C and HDL models to be mixed, enabling tradeoffs between very high-performance simulation and implementation-level detail. The incorporation of the firm’s ESIM embedded software development environment adds the capability to run application-level code targeted for a specific RTOS. While the original V-CPU environment primarily focused on the co-simulation of diagnostic software with HDL representations of hardware, V-CPU Pro now provides a practical environment in which designers can develop hardware and software applications in parallel.
