Larger-Sized Portable Instrument Enclosures Fit Suspension Arms

OKW Enclosures added new larger-size “L” models to its CARRYTEC family of portable instrument enclosures. The 13.70- by 11.93- by 4.61-in. CARRYTEC L is particularly suited to suspension arms—its integrated handle can be used as a grab point when the unit is inverted and fitted to the suspension arm, facilitating maneuverability and positioning. The enclosure comes in two standard materials: off-white ABS (UL 94 HB) for indoor use and “lava gray” fiberglass-reinforced polyamide for outdoor use. The handle grip, made of soft-touch TPE, is located above the center of gravity to ensure balanced carrying. The top section has a recessed area for membrane keypads, displays, and touchscreens. Inset flat sections on the underside are designed for mounting connectors or control switches. Screw pillars in the top and bottom handle printed-circuit boards, displays, and assemblies. Options include sealing kits (IP54) and a docking station for charging and data transfer when the equipment isn’t being carried or fitted to a suspension arm. Applications range from medical and wellness equipment to data recording/monitoring and test and measurement.
