USB Controller Targets Xlinx FPGAs

July 1, 2001

Resulting from a partnership with Insight Electronics, the company has developed an USB 1.1 universal serial bus (USB) device controller for use with Xilinx FPGAs. The device's core provides an interface between the USB device and the host controller, with the company's technology bridging a standard USB interface to a read/write parallel application interface. This scheme is said to shield the designer from the complexities of the USB protocol, making it easy to integrate USB functionality into the target application.
