Grandmaster Clock Supports IEEE 1588 PTP Version 2

The XLi v2 Grandmaster GPS-Referenced Clock contains a dedicated 1588 timestamp processor and functions as an IEEE 1588 slave with the capability to measure PTP Version 2 client performance by assessing time transfer accuracy across a network. It operates at 100 Base-T line speed with deep timestamp packet buffers and supports more than 50 slave delay requests per second. It can be configured with two 1588 ports functioning as independent grandmasters or as a grandmaster and slave. This configuration is useful in characterizing the time degradation effects of delay and jitter introduced by any network element or topology before deployment.

Optional TimeMonitor software collects and analyzes time-interval data. Additional features include oscillator options providing stability and redundancy with OCXO, time code input, IEEE 1344 time code input/output, and a multicode option for generating a range of time codes.
