RF test set extends range with third-party instruments

The ZT8101 Test Set, a joint effort with Astronics DME, comprises three PXI instruments: the ZT8441 RF/IF Digitizer, the ZT8711 LO Synthesizer, and the ZT8611 RF Downconverter. It comes standard with a 150-MHz modulation bandwidth.

The test set provides a frequency range of 1 MHz to 1, 3, 6, or 9 GHz with frequency resolution of 1 Hz. It features a switching speed of <100 µs, a level range of -130 dBm to +30 dBm, and a spurious-free dynamic range of >75 dB; a vector signal analysis capability for digital modulation analysis and adjacent channel power measurement; and a ZSignal Spectrum Analyzer GUI.

Alone, the ZT8101 delivers general-purpose, image-free signal analysis up to 9 GHz. It can be paired with other third-party instruments to extend the frequency range.
