Seminar to Focus on EMC Design Compliance

WHEELING, IL, June 8, 2011

EMC by Your Design, an EMC practical applications seminar and workshop, will be held Oct. 18 to Oct. 20 in Northbrook, IL. The three-day program, featuring an updated curriculum developed by Donald L. Sweeney and his associates, will include an understanding of the many EMC regulatory requirements including FCC, CE, U.S. military, RTCA-DO-160, and those of many foreign countries.

The classes begin with the fundamentals of EMC and then focus on the methodology of how to minimize EMC problems, starting with the design process through final testing and approval. Students can learn how an electronic circuit becomes a radio transmitter; how the physics of even the simplest devices such as capacitors, inductors, and shielding can help or hinder compliance; and how to control the design to minimize emissions.

Attendees will be led step-by-step through sample calculations, introduced to take-home proprietary software, and guided through troubleshooting a product that does not meet the requirements. They also will be offered an exclusive hands-on personal consultation with an instructor or technical staff to apply what has been learned to a specific product. 847-537-6400, www.dlsemc.com/1001
