USB, Ethernet DAQ devices
The SC-1608 Series USB and Ethernet data-acquisition devices feature analog signal conditioning, allowing customers to easily measure voltage, thermocouple, RTD, strain, frequency, and current. Isolated analog output and solid-state relays make it a suitable platform for systems needing flexible conditioning and low cost per channel.
There are four devices in the SC-1608 Series with sample rates up to 500 kS/s. Each device accommodates up to eight type 8B isolated analog signal conditioning modules and eight solid-state relay modules. Up to two isolated analog outputs are available on some models. Signal conditioning modules are sold separately. The SC-1608 Series is priced from $999. Measurement Computing
Octal ADC
The LTC2348-18 is an 18-bit, eight-channel simultaneous sampling successive-approximation-register (SAR) ADC. While converting eight channels at 200 kS/s per channel throughput, each SoftSpan input can be independently configured on a conversion-by-conversion basis to accept ±10.24-V, 0- to 10.24-V, ±5.12-V, or 0- to 5.12-V signals. The differential analog inputs operate over a 34-V input common-mode range, allowing the ADC to directly digitize a variety of signals to simplify the signal-chain design.
The LTC2348-18 is available now in a 48-lead, 7-mm x 7-mm LQFP package, priced starting at $23.35 each in 1,000-piece quantities. Samples and demo boards may be requested.

ED-137 test suite
An end-to-end signaling-emulation and voice-quality test suite makes use of the vendor’s VQuad Probe and MAPS SIP tools to test elements of the FAA’s next-generation voice network, called the National Airspace System (NAS) Voice System (NVS). The vendor reports that the FAA plans to replace the existing analog/TDM technology with VoIP technology as defined by EUROCAE (European Organization for Civil Aviation Equipment) ED-137. Delay testing will be particularly important in the transition to IP. According to the vendor, the new test suite provides the necessary flexibility to meet the challenge of ED-137. GL Communications
EMI suppression filters
The expanded BNX series of surface-mount, LC combined-type EMI suppression filters serves automotive, industrial-electronic-equipment, and healthcare applications. The BNX26-29 products incorporate an exclusive circuit configuration that combines capacitors and ferrite beads to achieve superior frequency characteristics and improved attenuation characteristics for noise damping. Further, the BNX filters cover a wide range of frequencies from the kilohertz to the gigahertz bands. They also are compatible with large currents and high voltages.
Samples of the BNX series are available through Murata authorized distributors with an approximate lead time of four weeks. Murata

Advanced Device Analyzer pricing starts at $37,800; Precision IV Analyzer pricing starts at $20,000. The Economic IV analyzer will be available in 2016 at a starting price of $5,000. Keysight Technologies
Pick-and-place handler
The MT2168 pick-and-place handler now offers multi-temperature test with only one plunger cycle. This new feature particularly addresses the requirements in design and engineering sites. The fast and accurate changes of the set temperatures are based on the chamberless soaking solution in the contact unit of the MT2168. This design allows for exact thermal measurements and prompt temperature adjustments for each device under test.
Multi-temperature testing with only one insertion significantly reduces the operator actions and the stress on the device under test. It is a suitable solution for temperature characterization at engineering sites because it fully supports lights-out operations over nights or during weekends. Multitest
Clamp AC current sensors
The expanded CCT series of clamp AC current sensors now includes types that are rated for 300 A and 80 A. The new sensors are designed for use in the power-distribution panels in a variety of energy-management systems. With a current transformation ratio of 3000:1, the 300-A and 80-A types offer maximum output currents of 100 mA and 26.6 mA, respectively. The CCT sensors have an integrated open-circuit protection element for voltage peak suppression.
The 300-A type features a clamp inner diameter of 24 mm and is suitable for high current applications such as energy-management systems in buildings, factories, and stores. It achieves its high current rating thanks to its optimized sensor shape and the high-performance ferrite material developed especially for current sensors. TDK
A new line of 75-Ω test cables provides operation up to 3 GHz. These rugged cable assemblies withstand the rigors of test lab use and applications in 75-Ω communications systems, including cable TV, MoCA 2.0 and MoCA 1.1 (Media over Coax Alliance), and DOCSIS (Data over Cable Service Interface Specifications).
The cables are available in two configurations including a type-N male to type-N male or a type-N male to type-F male. The connectors are threaded to ensure an accurate and secure connection to both the device under test as well as the analyzer. The test cables are suitable for engineering labs, production environments, and quality testing facilities.
