The 2400AD2 software-defined radar module incorporates a PLL and offers dual receiving channels for K-band applications. In addition, the module is compact and light-weight enough to fit into a coat pocket. The software-defined architecture of the FPGA-based module facilitates system compactness and flexibility. Without modifying hardware, the company reports, operating modes, waveforms, bandwidths, and processing functions can be changed within the system for different scenarios and applications. Raw data can be streamed to
MATLAB for signal processing.
The 2400AD2 can be used for indoor activity monitoring, gesture sensing, 3D InSAR/InISAR imaging, and other applications. Ancortek
The +FET line of 650-V superjunction MOSFETs gain their high efficiency through low switching and conduction losses, helping to simplify thermal management. The devices’ smooth switching behavior reduces switching noise and drives faster design cycles by lowering the need for snubber circuits. Their advantage of higher ampacity per package type improves power-supply density, which in turn enables the use of advanced surface-mount packages in higher power designs.
The new +FET product roll-out includes more than 50 devices with 13 different RDS(ON) ratings ranging from 1,000 mΩ to 32 mΩ. Packages types include traditional thru-hole (TO-220/TO-220FP), surface-mount (DPAK/D2PAK), and advanced surface-mount (5×6/8×8) devices. Pricing for a 650-V/80-mΩ +FET in 1k quantities is $1.84 each. Typical lead times are 10 weeks. D3 Semiconductor
The GiGuard Series ESD diodes offer clamping voltages below 12 V, nominal capacitance values spanning 17 pF down to 0.3 pF, and reverse leakage current values below 0.1 μA to preserve the integrity of high-speed signals and protect sensitive ICs during ESD events in applications including network communications, gigabyte Ethernet, USB 2.0, USB 3.0, HDMI, and tablet and smartphone touchscreens. In addition, unlike typical TVS diodes, which have hidden terminal pads, the solder joints on the new GiGuard Series diodes are fully visible to inspection systems. They feature leadless and low-profile 0201 and 0402 packaging designs. AVX
The EMX-70XX Series precision programmable resistor ladder modules are the latest addition to the vendor’s family of PXI Express functional test solutions. As part of the EMX family of products, these modules can be mixed and matched with other EMX Series modules to configure high-density measurement and switching systems. The EMX-70XX Series is designed for applications such as precision simulation of RTDs and other resistance-based sensors, process control, ATE calibration, controlled loading of DUTs, and potentiometer simulation.
The EMX-7004 module can deliver stability and accuracy (up to ±0.02% of the programmed value ±0.5 Ω) for any resistance value from 1 Ω to 16,383 Ω. It can be adjusted in 1-Ω increments, either through the software API or the dynamic soft front panel provided. AMETEK VTI Instruments
LR-19 Series inductive linear position sensors employ LVIT technology. The contactless devices are designed for factory automation and a variety of industrial or commercial applications involving motor-sport vehicles, automotive testing, solar cell positioners, wind turbines, and packaging equipment. They are suitable for both industrial testing laboratories and OEM applications.
The LR-19 offers six ranges from 25 to 200 mm. It features a 19-mm-diameter anodized aluminum housing sealed to IP-67. A radial cable exit version comes with swivel rod eye ends. Axial termination versions support either an M-12 connector or a cable. Alliance Sensors Group
Three new series of high-voltage single-in-line (SIL/SIP) reed relays offer high packing density: the Series 67 and 68 dry reed-relays operate up to 10 kV, and the Series 119 micro-SIL relay (pictured) operates up to 3 kV.
The company calls the Series 119 the industry’s smallest high-voltage SIL/SIP reed relay for up to 3 kV stand-off: the 1 Form A, 2 Form A, and 1 Form B versions are available with 3-, 5-, or 12-V operating coils. The relays can be stacked side-by-side for maximum packing density. (All of the vendor’s SIL/SIP relays have full magnetic screening allowing side-by-side operation.) The Series 67 and 68 are available for up to 10-kV stand-off, 7.5-kV switching, with an option of either PCB or flying-lead switch connections. Pickering Electronics
A new series of 8-bit programmable phase shifters is adjustable over a full 360-degree range. The three new models can produce a discrete set of phase states of up to 256 total steps in 1.4-degree increments. These digitally controlled analog phase shifters cover frequency bands from 0.5 to 18 GHz. Typical phase shift error ranges from ±0.9 to ±4.5 degrees over eight binary increments with fast switching speed performance from 30 to 265 ns.
The phase shifters are suitable building-block components for aerospace and defense radar and EW applications involving phased-array antennas, phase discriminators, beam-forming networks, and RF communication systems. Fairview Microwave
Power supplies
The models 9103 and 9104 power supplies operate in constant-voltage or constant-current mode and can deliver up to 320 W in any combination of rated voltage and current—42 V/20 A (Model 9103) and 84 V/10 A (Model 9104). With a lightweight, compact form factor, these models can replace multiple power supplies on a bench, making them suitable for a variety of uses in electronics manufacturing, engineering, service and repair, and education.
The front panel provides a bright, dual four-digit LED display, on/off control, and simple keypad and rotary control knobs for voltage and current. Available immediately, the 9103 and 9104 are backed by a two-year warranty and listed at $495 each. B&K Precision
The expanded portfolio of Interline Transfer Electron Multiplication CCD (IT-EMCCD) image sensors offers new options that target not only low-light industrial applications such as medical and scientific imaging, but also commercial and military applications for high-end surveillance.
The new 4-Mpixel KAE-04471 (pictured) uses larger 7.4-micron pixels than those found in existing IT‑EMCCD devices, doubling the light-gathering capability of the new device and improving image quality under light-starved conditions. The KAE-04471 is pin and package compatible with the existing 8-Mpixel KAE‑08151.
The new KAE-02152 shares the same 1080p resolution and 2/3-inch optical format as the existing KAE‑02150 but incorporates an enhanced pixel design that increases sensitivity in near-infrared wavelengths—an improvement that can be critical in applications such as surveillance, microscopy, and ophthalmology. The KAE-02152 is fully drop-in compatible with the existing KAE-02150. ON Semiconductor
