Kevin Keane, Astronics' 45-year chairman and former CEO, passes away at 86

On June 11, aerospace and mission-critical industries advanced technologies supplier Astronics announced the passing of Kevin T. Keane, the company's former CEO and its board chairman for 45 years. He passed away on June 10 in Buffalo, NY at the age of 86.

Keane joined the Astronics' board and began his career with the company in 1970, and was named chairman in 1974. Also starting that year, he served as president and chief executive officer until 2002. He served as a board member for nearly 50 years at the time of his passing. Astronics said Keane was actively involved in his community, serving on several boards and volunteering his time with numerous organizations.

“We are deeply saddened by this loss and our thoughts and prayers are with his family," said Peter Gundermann, Astronics president and CEO. "Kevin played a pivotal role in the history of Astronics, joining soon after our founding. He worked tirelessly throughout his nearly five decades to transform Astronics and left a remarkable legacy that will benefit the company well into the future. His extraordinary leadership, vision and enthusiasm will be deeply missed.”
