Retarding abrasion and wear, Diamondshield coating for plastics and polymers that encase consumer and portable electronic devices, when applied via chemical vapor deposition, forms a water-clear coating. The coating increases surface hardness to that of glass, providing enhanced durability and an increase in abrasion and wear resistance. Strengthening the surface hardness allows the plastic to have an allegedly unattainable scratch resistance while maintaining the weight savings, impact resistance, and formability of plastic. Additionally, the coating exhibits a low index of refraction and virtually no absorption in visible wavelengths. For more details, call MORGAN TECHNICAL CERAMICS INC., Fairfield, NJ. (800) 433-0638.
