With the increasing complexity of machines and their control systems comes the rise in the number of sensors and actuators, thus increasing the number of sensor/actuator cables that require termination inside junction boxes or control cabinets. Each cable needed a fitting, which required drilling a hole, installing a fitting and then installing the cable. But with the Cablefix termination plate, a single cutout replaces the individual holes and only two screws are pushed through the opening to finish the installation process.
An integrated strain relief secures the cable and the gasket gives the installation an IP 65 or IP 66 rating, making it both airtight and watertight. Other advantages include a higher packaging density of cables, resulting in a requirement of 50% less space than conventional fittings. Installation time is reported as being reduced by 70%. Cables can be replaced at any time without any special tools. The plates come in a variety of sizes and can accommodate from four to 52 individual cables.
