Adding to the Golden DRAGON LED family, the ARGUS, like its siblings, employs a proprietary lens to provide uniform backlighting with consistent color mixing for backlighting 32" to 82" LCD panels. The LED's assembly comprises four thin-film LEDs, two green, one blue, and one red, in a marquis-jewel arrangement. Any number of marquis configurations is possible, either offset in honeycomb patterns or in rows to form near infinitely scalable backlighting systems. Measuring 4-mm in height, the LED specifies a switching time of less than 100 ns. Additionally, it contains no lead or mercury and complies with RoHS guidelines and exhibits a lifetime of more than 50,000 hours. OSRAM OPTO SEMICONDUCTORS, San Jose, CA. (888) 446-7726.
