The eXtra Bright green LEDs rely on a process that combines InGaN materials with a silicon carbide (SiC) substrate in a vertical chip structure, said to maximize total light extraction. This material also integrates a current-distribution layer that requires a single wire bond. As a result, the LEDs are capable of luminous intensities up to 32,900 mcd, while maintaining reliability. They are available in 5-mm round and elliptical packages with viewing angles of 15°, 30°, 60° x 35°, and 110° x 50°. Prices start at $0.75 each/5,000. MARKTECH OPTOELECTRONICS, Menands, NY.
