According to its manufacturer, the VCM30 image-processing system comes with the lowest price tag on the market. This compact, lightweight optical system also is the first to include NEMA 4 (IP67) housing as a standard feature. It's designed for a range of industrial applications, including food quality inspection, circuit manufacturing, cable manufacturing, mechanical applications, sorting, packaging, and task completion.

Thanks to its rugged construction, the VCM30 can stand up to vibration, shock, and extreme temperatures. This construction also permits precise measurements and tests. The housing integrates LED ring lighting, optics, and a color sensor. A processor with a simple human interface speeds set-ups.

With its 10-in. size and 1.3-in. diameter, the system can be used as an OEM camera for mechanical engineering applications. The VCM30 addresses a wide variety of gauging, inspection, orientation, color control, pattern matching, and recognition and correlation tasks. It includes normalized gray scale correlation pattern-matching software.

The VCM30's Cross-Development Software System, sold on a single-site license basis with no run-time license required, includes a C compiler, a real-time operating system, and an image-processing library. Available now, the VCM30 costs $400. A single-site license for the Cross-Development Software System costs $1543.
